History 1700 American Civilizations

I think I have enjoyed this course more than any college class I have taken in the past. I have a much clearer understanding of where we came from and how we developed into who we are today. We covered such a huge span of time from Early American Civilizations to the Cold War. This class gave me a more realistic view of America. It has been shaped by conflict, hardship, pride and prosperity. America struggled through social turmoil like prohibition and the civil rights movement which, like any character building experience, hurt us, then made us stronger. My project for this class was a profile on Theodore Roosevelt. I chose this historical figure because I feel that he embodies the nature of America. He started life sickly and frail then through the refining fires of hardship and struggle he became strong, intelligent and courageous.( In my book he beats out the Dos XX guy for the position of the Worlds Most Interesting Man.)
